Formerly, as a manufacturer’s representative for over 32 plastic processing & metal fabricators, Michael Montgomery started a concept company with the single goal of helping his plastic molding principals reduce material costs with high-quality recyclables. Eventually, as more clients aligned with his strategy, the initiative of Polymer Sciences was born through consulting services and recyclable plastic supply. In 1996, from these original concepts, Polymer Sciences, Inc. became a reality focusing on transforming recyclable products into high-quality grade polymer materials for injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, and compounding clients.
Within the next several years, PSI developed internal initiatives for world-class enterprises by helping recoup scrap manufacturing losses into revenue (monetization) with mobile recycling programs in seven states across the US, two in Canada, and three in Mexico for some of the largest automotive Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in North America. Similarly, work was begun processing and supplying materials directly to GM, Honda, and other organizations. With recycling facilities in the US, Canada and Mexico, PSI became a front runner for solving complex scrap issues and reversing losses.
Since that time, PSI has concentrated on core strategies related to processing polymers for select clients needing assistance in developing clean, reliable materials for their manufacturing needs. Achieving these ends requires concentration on all phases of circular business concepts from design to manufacturing and recycling fulfillment. Still, it came down to PSI playing integral roles in recycling strategies and performance in size reduction, metals & contaminates separation, pelletization, product destruction, tracking, and reporting for clients. PSI is now honored to supply recycing services to some of the worlds largest Supply Chain, Pooling, Manufacturing and even other Recycling companies in North America.
